FAQ's & Tips
I will try to explain in detail, to those who are new to candy wrapping and affixing labels, a How-To' guide showing some of the design templates, what they are designed for and how to apply them.
Common supplies needed:
-
Color Printer
-
Sharp scissors and Xacto/craft knife
-
Ruler or straight edge
-
Scotch tape and (but not necessary) double sided tape. A roll on dispenser works great, most commonly used is the Mono™ Permanent Adhesive available at craft stores.
-
Glue Stick. Not all glue sticks are created equal, use one that is permenant and will dry clear.
-
Embossing pen or creasing bone. A dried up, out of ink, ballpoint pen with a medium tip will also work.
-
Quality paper Acid-free. 96 or better bright white 20-28 lb, bright white card stock 65-110 lb. An ivory or cream colored linen paper adds a nice texture and elegance to the candy wrappers.
-
Colored foil squares (used for the SOE). White backed gift paper found in the wedding or anniversary section, cut into 7½" x 6", will work just fine. Be creative and match the foil to your template design..
-
Quality Acid-free photo paper. You do not want your clocks or labels to fade over time.
-
Craft Mat, self healing is preferred, nice to have but not necessary.
